Weight watchers points system? by Hello <3

I started the weight watchers points system about 5 days ago. ive been doing everything right so far, exercising and writing down everything i eat in my journal. but i dont feel like its going to really work. any advice from poeple whove done this program? does it work? i would like to loose a few pounds before a trip im taking in the end of march, does anybody have any faster ways to loose weight that arent unhealthy.

My wife lost about 50 lbs in the first 6 months of doing ww. But she did incorporate exercise in along with the dieting. It has been 2 years and she still counts points, still logs everything that she eats and still goes to the meetings once or twice a month. It has definitely become 2nd nature for her, I never see her use her point calculator anymore. If you are not exercising regularly at this time, I think that doing so would greatly improve your chances of meeting your goals.
