From HealthyDiningFinder.com: Located in Salinas, California, Golden Star Restaurant has been thriving since the present owner, Tony Tan, took over in 1997. Golden Star Restaurant offers Americanized Chinese Food, drawing mainly from Cantonese influences. A vast selection of items is available on the menu, providing many choices in terms of customer preferences. Stir-frying is the most common method of preparation, as Tan and his kitchen staff believe this method is the best way to give customers full-flavor dishes while also keeping them healthy. Methods like flash-frying food in boiling oil are never used at Golden Star. In addition to cooking methods, Tony pleases his clientele by providing a healthy menu. One of the first things patrons will notice is Golden Star’s striking slogan: LESS OIL, LESS SALT. Golden Star seems to be a pioneer on this front in the town. This is something about which the owner is serious, as most of the clientele are health-conscious.
