My Weight Watchers Progress

Below are the results of my weekly weigh-ins since I first started doing Weight Watchers in the spring of 2009. The weeks that are in bold are weeks that I signed up for another ‘Weekly Pass’.

The first table contains official weights from my Weight Watchers meetings in 2009. The second one contains unofficial weigh-ins as I try to lose the weight by doing Weight Watchers on my own in 2010. Wish me luck! (updated results are being posted in the forums)

Well, I managed to survive the holidays without totalling blowing my weight loss to this point. I had quite a hard time, basically from Halloween on. Now that all of that is behind me it is time to get back on track. Last weekend I assembled a home gym in the basement that I have started to work into my daily routine. I’m doing a 12 week program that involves weight training and cardio. Hopefully this will help get me to my goal of 195 pounds in that time, which would only be 1 pound per week…time to get back on program!!

    Hi Dan!
I appologize I’ve always used the table of contents and never really looked at the home page. Thanks again for your help, this page is awesome…. Reading it everyday really keeps me motivated…

    Have a blessed day!

    It’s not a diet it’s a life change…

  2. Dan says:

Thanks again Dani. I probably should add a link in the table of contents for recipes…there are probably a lot of people that use that to navigate the site. I’ll get that done today 🙂

Dan…Been following all of you on here…and it helps to have a buddy system!!~ I have lost 10 lbs since…yes!!!…But i have one question…i have ONE weigh day a week, and try to stay away from the scale for 7 days…lol….but this week..i stayed the SAME!! grrrrrr…Why is this??? ive followed it to a T..counted ALL my points..but no wt. loss??? is this normal Dan????

  4. Dan says:

Ten pounds is a great accomplishment Dennie! I stick to the ‘once a week’ weigh in, also. I think since WW is only set up to help lose .5 to 2 pounds per week that any little change can really make a difference. So if you got in a little less exercise or if your portion sizes were off a little, those can affect how your weigh in goes.

Great job with the 10 pounds, though. Remain dedicated to the plan and you will definitely have continued success.

  5. Dennie says:

Thanks Dan!!..tomorrow is weigh in and ill keep you posted…it had better be a minus!!..lol..~ Also..just a little note to all who are on WW..Having been in the medical field for many years…I was watching a Dr. Oz show..he says to eat a few walnuts a day..well i think this has been my problem as for 1/4 cup is 7 points!!! YIKES!!..love this site..!! seems so much easier to stay on tract when i have to report in to anyone who cares!!..haha….
    Dennie~

  6. Dennie says:

Dan…wt loss for last week was 1 lb..so im happy!!~ makes 11 lbs for me…. and i also stopped the 1 serving of walnuts!..I figured it out…ONE large walnut is 1 pt!!..not worth it..Good Luck to everyone on this WW journey!!..

  7. Dan says:

Great job Dennie! I gave myself a personal goal this week of 2% (4.2 pounds) to try and kickstart my losses again. Was doing good until the weekend, now I need to make up a some ground.

  8. Mari says:

What kind of scale do you use? I am just starting and would like to invest in a good, accurate scale…do you have any suggestions?

  9. Dan says:

Hi Mari, welcome to the site. My wife and I use a Weight Watchers digital scale that she bought at Target for around $40. Seems to be pretty accurate, my wife weighs herself before going to her official weigh in and it is usually right on.

I posted the following on a different page but thought I’d copy it over here, too, just incase someone missed it…

“Hi everyone, I found a site that may be useful for you if you make a lot of things from scratch and have a hard time figuring out the points. Here is the link…

Copy and paste your recipe into the box, enter the number of servings then hit analyze. Seems like it works pretty good, but I had to tweek a couple of item names before it found them. It will give you the nutrition information for each serving which you can then use to calculate points. Just thought I’d share.”

Hi Dan, Well, my husband and I are going to start WW next week. We are both in our late 50’s and not only is the weight harder to lose, but it seems to be distributing itself in some mighty odd places LOL !!!
Anyhow, with the both of us attending meetings we will have each other (and the other members) for moral support. We joined WW quite a number of years ago; way before the Point System; lost weight ( him more than me), but starting celebrating our weight loss each week by eating a Friendly’s 5-scoop sundae !!! Not a really smart idea. Some years and sundaes later, here we are, looking like little weebles !!!
We are so amazed at your progress with WW !! Keep up the GREAT work. Wish us luck (we’re sure going to need it; since they just built a new Friendly’ down the road!!) Take care and Bless You for all you’ve done for us folks needing that extra push.

  12. Dan says:

Hey Debby! Welcome to the site.

Thanks for the nice comments. I know what you mean about weight distributing to odd places…

Good luck with the point system, I think you will find it very easy to stick to. Having a friend/spouse to attend the meetings with really helps keep you on track. Especially if there are little competitions going on between the two of you. When I did the meetings with a coworker, whoever lost the least amount had to pay for lunch at Subway. Those were some tight battles…

I wish you guys the best. If you would like to share your results on here to help keep you motivated, there is an area for that on the new forum board that I put on the site this week. The link is in the right column towards the top if you want to check it out. Thanks for visiting!

    Dan,

I LOVE your site. I have been on weight watchers since Oct. 2008 and have since lost 56 lbs. I have added your site to my favorites because there are so many helpful links that I’ll be referring to. As you I had a slow fall/winter and I’m finally feeling that I’m dialed into moving forward with my weightloss. I started this with one goal in mind and that was to shed the lbs. before my son’s wedding and that is soon approaching in May!

    Thanks again!

  14. Dan says:

Hi Laurie! Great job, That is awesome 🙂

Don’t drop your guard after your son’s wedding, though. Many people that lose weight for a specific purpose end up gaining back much of what they lost after the special event. Now that you have had such great success it would be a shame to go back to the old ways! Best wishes and congrats!

Thank you for this valuable web site. There is a wealth of information on here. I have made sure to bookmark your site on my PC and cell. Good luck to you on your continued weight loss goals.

  16. Dan says:

Thanks Dee Dee! Good luck to you as well!

  17. bonnie says:

Hello, just wondering if it is possible for me to lose weight, while doing weight watchers at home. I would be using this website as a guide. I would like to lose some weight by june, is that possible or am I asking to much? That is when camping for our family begins, and that means bathing suits. I really would like to look a little bit better in mine then last year. 🙂

    thanks,
    Bonnie

  18. Dan says:

Hi Bonnie, welcome to the site. The WW meetings are great for information and motivation, and the weigh ins definitely help keep some people focused on their goals, but they are not necessary for losing the weight. The key is knowledge, once you know what to do the rest is up to you. If you can remain dedicated to the plan there is no way that you will not lose weight. Good luck and let us know if you have any questions we can help with. There is also a forum where you can share your goals and weigh in results if you feel that is something that would help motivate you. Thanks for visiting!

  19. Dani says:

TO BONNIE! I too use this site for resource and do not attend meetings. Helpful Hint: Make a family member aware of your weight loss and Every week on your specific weigh in let them know how you are doing! That’s how I’m doing it so that I have some support from someone.. I’ve lost 14 lbs since March 15, and my husband 20 so I know it works as long as you keep yourself motivated!!

Good luck, remember it’s not a diet it’s a life change!!

  20. maggie says:

Hi… you ok? Hope to see your progress updated soon. We’re all in this together and we can do it, and will do it.

  21. Dan says:

Hi Maggie, thanks for checking in. I’ve been posting my weekly updates in the forums for the last few weeks. Kind of heading in the wrong direction right now but I will turn it around 🙂

Feel free to join in on the discussions in the forum. There are only a few of us right now but all are welcome. The link is in the right hand column.

  22. Dennie says:

Hi Dan..thought id check in with my progress…Im at a total wt loss now of 16.5~ I was at 10 when i last emailed you…I bought a WW scale too…seems to be accurate…its a slow process for sure..but it works!!..I weigh every Sunday morning..praying it will be more that .5 or even 1…!!..lol..~ it can get discouraging at times, but i wont give up!! Im doing this for a Lifetime change!!!~ I love this site!! really helps keep me motivated to read everyones progress…:)

  23. Dan says:

Hey Dennie, good to here from ya again. I know how you feel about the weigh ins, I look forward to even the .1 losses… 🙂

The way I look at it is I can’t lose 1 pound a week for the rest of my life or I would disappear LOL, I’ll take what I can get. Thanks for using the site and feel free to start posting your weigh in results in the forums, everyone is welcome!

  24. Dee says:

Hi All …. I am starting a new eating plan tomorrow
I am female 51 10 stone 5ft 2 reasonably active but don’t do gym at present. How many points would I be advised to allow myself? I plan to lose 1 stone but would love to lose 2 stone ideally. 😉 Any tips or hints would be great also … I just want a truly basic balanced daily diet … so that it is simple and was thinking of just buying the WW ready meals as they are already measured out so I can’t get it wrong … is that good or bad? ….. Dee x

  25. Dan says:

Hi Dee, I responded to your other post as well, but would like to stress again that eating the ww meals is not the way to go. They are convenient for a meal occasionally, but meals like that are usually high in sodium which causes water retention. Also, the point values tend to be a little high for the meals, I know some that I’ve seen I could definitely make something equivalent using fewer points and ending up with more food (especially the breakfasts).
