My Weight Watchers Progress

Below are the results of my weekly weigh-ins since I first started doing Weight Watchers in the spring of 2009. The weeks that are in bold are weeks that I signed up for another ‘Weekly Pass’.

The first table contains official weights from my Weight Watchers meetings in 2009. The second one contains unofficial weigh-ins as I try to lose the weight by doing Weight Watchers on my own in 2010. Wish me luck! (updated results are being posted in the forums)

Well, I managed to survive the holidays without totalling blowing my weight loss to this point. I had quite a hard time, basically from Halloween on. Now that all of that is behind me it is time to get back on track. Last weekend I assembled a home gym in the basement that I have started to work into my daily routine. I’m doing a 12 week program that involves weight training and cardio. Hopefully this will help get me to my goal of 195 pounds in that time, which would only be 1 pound per week…time to get back on program!!

    Hello from Scotland!
I came across this site by accident, and I’m so glad I did! Well done Dan, this is really great. I did weight watchers some years ago, and lost 3 stone (not sure what that is in pounds?!? – sorry!). I did a great job of keeping it off for a few years, but slowly I have piled back on 2 stones – I blame my boyfriend – it only happened after we moved in together! Seriously though, I am very disappointed with myself for letting it happen and not doing anything sooner. I’m now having real issues with self esteem, and I just feel like a fat old frump – I’m only 29! It’s not that I’m huuuuge, but I’m only small in height, and I’m currently a good 2 stone over my maximum healthy weight range. I’ve been doing ww on my own for the last few days, and it’s hard! Good luck to you all, hope you get to the weight you want, and wish me luck!

Hi Laura, and welcome to the site. You may be right about it being the boyfriends fault, seems like things like that always cause people to gain a little weight…my wife and I went through the same thing when we started dating. Weight Watchers definitely gets easier over time, especially as you start to memorize the points for some of the things that you eat regularly. Best of luck to you and thanks for visiting the site!

    Hi Dan,
I am on ww as well. I have lost 20 ls in the last year still feel that my weight loss is slow. I know i need to get moving alot more,,,,any ideas how i can speed my weight loss up….if i did not join ww i would be gaining instead….great site will check in soon…keep the motivation going i need it…
    thanks

Hi wendy, great job with the 20 pounds but I know how you feel about the loss feeling slow. I’ve been struggling with the last 10 pounds for quite some time and even though I am not gaining it is quite frustrating to not be losing. If you feel that your diet (eating) is where it should be with weight watchers then my advice would be to step up your exercise routine, either longer or more intense. Thanks for stopping in and good luck! Let us know how it goes…

    Hi Dan,

How r u? I need some help, I cant seem to lose the late 10 pounds !! I have tried everything, I count all my points ( 18 day) I never use me flex , only sometimes my activity points. I don’t know what to do, the scale just wont move down !! I have no other choice but to do 12 points a day…..do you think that may work??

    B.T.W I am Female / 24 / 5`6 / 140 Pounds and I hate it !!

  6. Dan says:

Hi Rada, good to hear from you again. I’m not sure what the issue is for you but I don’t think that going down to 12 points a day is the answer. WW recommends 18 point per day minimum. From the information that you provided above I come up with a minimum of 21 points for you, plus whatever you would give yourself for your activity levels.

Believe it or not, eating less is not always the right answer for kicking in weight loss. Sometimes your body needs more fuel (food) to accomplish what it is trying to do. There was an episode of the biggest loser last year where a contestant was spending like 8-10 hours a day in the gym, eating minimal calories and still only losing a pound or 2 each week. His trainer (Jillian) evaluated his diet and came to the conclusion that he was not eating enough for his metabolism to function properly. She upped his calorie intake by 800 calories per day and the next week he lost 8 pounds. Sometimes it’s just a matter of finding the right balance but I think that any weight loss you have from eating only 12 points a day would turn out to be only temporary and may complicate things in the long run.

I saw this site listed on Facebook yesterday and checked it out. I’m so glad you took the time to do this Dan! Thank you! I joined WW online last July, and am down 40 pounds. I’ve been slacking a bit the last 2 months – but I’ve maintained. Now, I’ve decided to really kick it up to lose the remaining 30 pounds that have been hanging around just too long! I plan to use this site as a resource and love to hear others’ successes!

  8. Dan says:

Hi Lindsey, thanks for stopping by. WOW, Facebook, huh? That’s great to hear, could you post a link to where you found it here so I could check it out? Hopefully they were saying good things about the site 🙂

40 pounds is an awesome achievment! I’m sure if you become dedicated again the remaining weight will melt away no problem. Good luck and check in once in awhile to let us know how it is going!

Hello everyone, I love, love, love this site! I lost around 50 pounds on WW awhile back, and since I have gained 30 back. I am starting over as of today! I think this website will help me so much, I love the support it gives, and hearing all of your stories! Well a big thank you to Dan, i will keep you posted as to my weight loss.

  10. Dan says:

Hi Shauna, thanks for visiting and for the nice words about the site. Sound like you are an old pro at this (50 pounds – wow!) so you should be able to get right back on track. Good luck!

  11. Dan says:

Just wanted to let everyone know that I may not be able to check the site much over the next week or so. There may be a delay in new comments appearing on the site after submission. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  12. bonnie says:

Hi Dan, sorry to bug you so much, but I weighted myself yesterday morning and it was up 2 lbs from friday! I was 186 on friday a total of 6lbs lost in a week. Is that possible? the weight is the same today so i’m pretty bummed. I have been using all my daily points, I use some of the weekly when we go out to dinner on friday nights. I exercise daily. I did redo the point allowance quiz last week and changed my activity level from mostly standing/sitting to mostly walking. Because I am usually moving all day cleaning house, chasing after my two toddlers, etc. Any advice or suggestions would be great feeling pretty bummed about the weight gain. Kinda feel like I will never lose it.

Thanks for listening and for any advice,
    Bonnie

  13. Dan says:

Hey bonnie, sorry for the delay (been on vacation).

There are a lot of things that could lead to a 6 pound loss in one week, and it would be very natural to follow that up with a slight gain. Just remain committed to the program and all of the little ‘speed bumps’ along the way will even out in the end. If you are following the program you will definitely lose the weight. DON’T GIVE UP! 🙂

how do I get to the forum to post results.. I saw you talk about it in an earlier posting but have not been able to find it. thanks Jennifer

  15. Dan says:

Sorry it took so long to respond, I see you already found the link in the right hand column and I approved your account. Welcome to the forum!!!

  16. Karrie Walls says:

Just found your website and I am so excited!! I started weight watchers on my own about a week ago (I have gone to a couple meetings in the past) I love all the information and feel like I can do this, losing 30 lbs is my goal!

  17. Dan says:

Hey Karrie, glad you found the site! The great thing about WW is that with a little bit of dedication and motivation, anyone can have great success. Best of luck and let us know how it is going!

  18. Becky says:

Great website. I am a lover of WEIGHTWATCHERS. It gave me the support and tools to lose over 115lbs. I have maintained this weight loss for three years and I still owe it all to WEIGHTWATCHERS. I continue to go to my weekly meetings and I weigh in every week too…. I will add to the site forums when I get a chance!

  19. Dan says:

Hi Becky, you are my hero 🙂 . Your dedication has really paid off and you are an inspiration to all of us

Thanks for checking out the site and for the kind words. Looking forward to having you join our little group in the forum. Keep up the great work!

  20. Hailey says:

I just started WW after having my second baby. I lost 30 pounds naturally and have 25 to go! Yuck. Anyway, responding to an old comment from Rada- how is your water consumption. I know if you are at a plateau and you drink a lot of Diet soda (like I do) you should cut it out and drink water… maybe try that?
I lost weight with WW after my first baby and am back at it again- I hope it comes off fast 🙂

  21. Rada says:

    Hi Hailey,

    =)

I try to drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday, I don’t drink any type of pop……but I do drink two cups of tea a day (sugar and milk free) I don’t know what’s going on with me…..why cant I lose these last 10 pounds. Its weird, beacuse on July 25th I weighed myself and I was down to 134, I have been doing good and have not cheated….so then last week I weight myself again and I was back at 140….I don’t get it…..

  22. Melissa says:

Dan – so happy to have found your site! Lost 57 pounds on Weight Watchers a couple years ago. Had some major life changes that I allowed to steer me off my path. Now here I go again on this long journey from the very beginning all over again. I’m so discouraged with myself. Can’t really afford to go back to the center, so I’m trying this on my own. Thrilled to have found this information because I couldn’t even remember how many points I should start off at. At least this feels like some level of support! Good job on your weight loss. Keep it up!

  23. Dan says:

Thank you Melissa, and good luck to you!

There are a couple of us that try to keep each other motivated and offer support in the forums if you would like to join us.

  24. Melissa says:

I will look into that from home. Can’t do it here at work, so it’ll be an evening thing. Thanks for the info!

  25. Ann says:

    Hi Dan,

Your site is great fantastic! I came across it while searching for point values. I’ve been on weight watchers for 25 weeks. Old weight was 209.6 now down to 165 with another 10 lbs. left to go…I look amazing and couldn’t be happier about my size now. Plus my doc took me off highblood pressure meds since my pressure is lower now. Great job on your weight loss!
